The Ultimate Driving Machine is being recalled.

BMW is recalling a 134,100 5 series sedans because the taillights can go on the fritz. The recall involves only the 2008 to 2010 model years of the popular luxury performance sedan.

The problem involves "increased resistance" at electrical contact points in the taillight housings that can cause the taillights to go out, according to the notice on the National Highway Traffic Administration website. If the resistance becomes a problem, drivers could lose the ability to switch on taillights, brake lights, turn signals or backing lights.

The exact models involved include the 528i, 535i, 550i, and M5.
